Job Overview:

The Financial Aid Administrator is responsible for the accurate distribution of all federal, state and institutional financial aid programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsels and advises students regarding financial aid process and award.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures that will ensure that fast, efficient, and effective service is provided to the students while maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, regulations and accreditation requirements.
  • Manages and oversees the coordination of Pell and Direct Student Loan processing between the US Department of Education, students and the institution.
  • Manages federal campus based student aid programs.
  • Coordinates the annual filing of the FISAP, Nursing Student Loan Annual Operating Report and other state/federal reports.
  • Maintains strong regulatory knowledge of federal and state regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinates and oversees audits, compliance reviews, and account reconciliations.
  • Works closely with the Bursar to ensure accurate disbursement of financial aid and student billing.
  • Counsels students regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress criteria.
  • Reviews and evaluates special circumstances and professional judgment cases.
  • Performs Return of Title IV calculations.
  • Oversees the coordination of the federal and college work-study program.
  • Develops and updates publications related to financial aid.
  • Collaborates with other departments to plan, develop and execute enrollment/retention programs.
  • Counsels on dropping/adding/failing as it relates to financial aid and student accounts.
