As a Case Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children aged 1/2. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct home studies, assessing the safety of the home and the suitability of the sponsor before the child is unified with them.
You will also provide post-release services to assess the child and the sponsor's areas of need, ensuring they are connected within the community. Your role will involve acting as an advocate for the child, helping them navigate the unfamiliar system and connecting them with resources that meet their specific needs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct home studies, assessing the safety of the home and the suitability of the sponsor
- Provide post-release services to assess the child and the sponsor's areas of need
- Act as an advocate for the child, helping them navigate the system and connecting them with resources
- Manage a high-turnover caseload, ensuring the safety and well-being of all youth on your caseload
- Comply with agency and regulatory policies and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant behavioral or social sciences field
- Experience conducting home studies according to state requirements
- Strong professional writing skills, particularly for assessment reports
- Knowledge of local community social services
- Experience working with immigrant populations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications
- Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required
- Valid driver's license and personal, reliable vehicle
