As a Youth Therapist for our Northwest Suburban School Districts, you will play a vital role in providing behavioral health services to individuals ages 3-24 years old and their families within the School District and for KYC. Your comprehensive mental health assessments, client/family engagement, and evidence-based services will be provided where needed by the client and School District, including schools, client homes, clinics, telehealth, or community settings.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our School District MTSS team to ensure timely access to quality services for our clients. You will also have the flexibility to work with diverse age groups and present with a variety of clinical needs, from assessment to treatment and case management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete mental health assessments and treatment plans that identify service needs and recommend options for care.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy services.
  • Provide case management services to assist clients and their families with access to needed benefits and services.
  • Attend staffings/meetings as needed in order to coordinate care and services for clients.
  • Coordinate between the school MTSS team and KYC's Behavioral Health team, and other providers.
  • Provide translations for clients and families on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide 1-2 days of crisis coverage at the school in order to help act as a consult for the school for whose clients are in crisis/needing higher level supports and assisting the school with clinical recommendations, as needed.
  • Meet agency quality and compliance standards by accurately completing clinical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Meet or exceed service productivity target.

Administrative and Performance Requirements:

  • Work cooperatively with the School District MTSS team to ensure clients timely access to quality services.

  • Meet or exceed service productivity target which may be achieved with direct service to School District clients or engaging in and providing clinical services to KYC clients until School District client volume meets direct service capacity of this job.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to ensure use of effective and efficient treatment that best addresses client needs.
  • Participation in All Staff meetings and other staff meetings and training as directed by supervisor.
  • Working cooperatively with other Center and School teams and programs to maintain smooth continuity of care when cases are shared across teams.
  • Become familiar with and utilization of outside resources as needed to provide comprehensive services to clients.
  • Participate in clinical and administrative supervision with direct supervisor and in regular performance appraisals as directed.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or University in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related discipline required (candidates currently enrolled in a master's program will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
  • Must have supervised experience in providing counseling and/or psychotherapy services.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge in the areas of diagnostic assessment, long and short-term treatment, family systems theory, and group treatment.
  • Must have basic computer and keyboarding skills.

Schedule/Time Keeping:

  • Full-Time, Exempt, Salaried, 37.5 hour work week.
  • Must work a flexible schedule in response to the needs of the target population served, including evening hours.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and job duties during school breaks and summer to continue providing clinical services, education around mental health, and presentations for the school district and community.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year
