Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Specialist to join our team at SMS group Inc. As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for processing customer orders and handling all aspects of technical sales from initial request through delivery to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Serve as the point of contact for Technical Service Division orders, process customer requests for quotations in accordance with pre-determined company metrics and procedures, and provide strong support for end customer and SMS Sales Department.
  • Order Management: Track customer requests for quotations, communicate with the customer to ensure accuracy, and prepare and send final quotations.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with existing customers, and provide technical support to customers.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned or requested, including business travel approximately 10%.
Requirements
  • A two-year technical degree combined with two years of business experience OR: A bachelor's degree in engineering preferably mechanical with two years of applicable experience.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus (German, Italian or Spanish).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Required to interpret Technical Drawings for the purpose of order quotation and accuracy.
  • Required to interpret materials of construction and material conversions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to write reports and correspond with customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • CAD preferred but not required.
  • Experience with SAP/ERP system is preferred.
