Geisinger Health System is seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our front-line staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and perform front-line office activities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Register incoming patients, support the patient check-out process, and schedule future appointments as needed.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure all check-in procedures are completed.
- Monitor patient wait times and communicate changes to patients as necessary.
- Read and interpret insurance responses, and understand general guidelines and insurance rank requirements.
- Communicate financial obligations to patients and collect fees at time of service as appropriate.
- Complete patient visits by scheduling follow-up appointments and processing multi-channel messages.
- Abide by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to patient rights.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Certification(s) and License(s) as required
