Job Summary:

As a Quality Improvement Coordinator Mammography, you will oversee all regulatory compliance issues, including aspects of the Mammography Quality Standards Act as defined by the FDA and ACR. You will be responsible for preparation for federal inspections and ACR accreditation. You will coordinate tasks and documentation for Quality Assurance, ensuring the department consistently produces high-quality mammographic exams and procedures to aid in medical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate activities/tasks to maintain compliance and accreditation with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Demonstrate high-level knowledge of established protocols and provide education and feedback to technologists to enhance patient care and image quality opportunities.
  • Work closely with Mammography Technologists, Physicians, RNs, Physicists, and Bio Med to ensure the department operates within compliance of MQSA regulations.
  • Provide QC resources and education to all Geisinger mammography sites.
  • Prepare, modify, and update all Quality control documentation.
  • Perform frequent review of all clinics' QC records with onsite visits to ensure compliance with MQSA.
  • Coordinate all annual inspections and documentation required by MQSA or ACR.
  • Work together with radiologists, managers, sales representatives, and supply chain to assure a cost-effective and standardized inventory management process.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing a quality-learning environment for technologists, patients, patients' families, students, and coworkers.
  • Responsible for contributing to staff meetings, organizing in-services, conducting continuing education, and quality assurance work as required by the department.
  • Provide training and guidance for the orientation of new staff and new exam protocols.
  • Oversee the implementation of new processes under the direction of the Mammography Modality Manager and Section Director and complete compliance audits as needed.

Requirements:

*Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate's Degree = 2 years; Bachelor's Degree = 4 years).

2 years of experience preferred in imaging-specific regulatory compliance coordination and process improvement/project coordination.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree- (Required), Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required)

Experience:
Minimum of 11 years-Relevant experience* (Required), Minimum of 7 years-Imaging (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s):
Mammography Technologist RT(R)(M) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
