Patient Access Coordinator

Geisinger Health System is seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients for appointments and accurately verify demographics
- Coordinate and perform front-line office activities in an effective and efficient manner
- Communicate with patients and families to ensure a smooth and seamless experience
- Read and interpret insurance responses to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
- Understand general guidelines and insurance rank requirements to properly assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance per encounter
- Ensure patient receives necessary disclosure and privacy information, obtains necessary legal and financial signatures
- Communicate financial obligations to patients and collect fees at time of service as appropriate
- Process multi-channel messages related to patient and/or physician requests regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints
- Notify patient or guarantor of anticipated financial responsibility including copays, deductibles, or coinsurances and collect accordingly
- Perform cash posting following department guidelines
- Abide by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality and patient rights
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year-Related work experience
- Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the state
