Job Summary of the

Technical Service Specialist:

We are seeking a Technical Service Specialist who is proactive, comfortable engaging directly with clients, possesses strong technical writing skills, and can collaborate with the Engineering team to provide product enhancement suggestions for the Product Development Division.

The Technical Service Specialist is accountable for the autonomous assembly, commissioning, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of systems, both nationally and internationally.

Qualifications of the

Technical Service Specialist:
~5 years in a Technical Service capacity with decision-making authority
~ Electronics or Electrical certification or degree
~ Willingness to travel 70% of the time (including both domestic and international travel)
~ Proficient in drafting trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
~ Familiarity with PLCs is highly preferred
~ Capability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
~ Must be adept in a Windows environment and proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
~ Must maintain a clean driving record
~ Must not have a fear of heights

  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is required. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms is highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with necessary documentation for travel into and outside of the United States)
Responsibilities of the

Technical Service Specialist:

  • Regular interaction with clients and/or end-users, vendors, and contractors.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating the involvement of relevant parties at the site to inspect/witness the final installation of equipment and their participation in the execution of start-up and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure a prompt response to client inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated systems, both onsite and remotely.
  • Repair equipment installed onsite at client facilities, covering both warranty and non-warranty claims.
  • Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations.
  • Take ownership of the correct execution of pre-commissioning activities in the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines, ensuring the quality of the work and reports.
  • Travel to client sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications to secure client acceptance.
  • Support the project team in ensuring all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items are resolved and signed-off as per project requirements.
  • Participate in project and construction meetings, as required.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical training to end-user operators and/or maintenance personnel.
  • As a troubleshooter, you will visit sites in the event of technical issues, analyze and resolve faults, and be available onsite for our clients in case of subsequent technical inquiries.
  • Independently coordinate with clients and/or end-users all details of site visits prior to departure.
  • Independently manage all travel arrangements (airfare, lodging, ground transportation, etc.).
  • Provide direct technical support to clients, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
