Demand Planning Specialist

A successful Demand Planner will possess a deep understanding of the business, with the ability to perform statistical analysis to forecast demand, identify trends and seasonality, recognize turning points in demand, and monitor changes in key business drivers. In conducting research, the ability to shape analytical findings into a meaningful business picture is critical. The Demand Planner must understand the business's demand and supply sides, maintaining open, honest communication with virtually every function in the company.
Main Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain forecasting models in SAP, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Serve as a functional expert in SAP forecasting/demand planning process, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Utilize pilot opportunities to test conclusions and improve forecasting processes.
- Gain consensus on resultant forecasts from Sales and Operations to develop a demand plan, leveraging IT for data collection and cleansing.
- Provide graphical reporting and performance measurements, benchmarking and working towards improving performance.
- Develop planning strategies for new and discontinued products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- A college degree in mathematics, statistics, or business is preferred, with a strong quantitative background.
- Must have business and analytical or statistical work experience, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers.
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to develop positive interdepartmental relationships, with a passion for learning and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Forecasting Software, and PowerPoint, with experience in SAP or other ERP systems.
- Ability to work with multiple departments, including Sales and Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
