Job Overview:


The Gadomski School of Engineering at Christian Brothers University is seeking a dedicated educator for a faculty role in Chemical Engineering, with an anticipated start date in early 2025. We encourage qualified candidates to express their interest in this position, which will remain open until filled.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of core undergraduate courses in chemical engineering, including practical laboratory sessions. A background in materials science would be advantageous.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction across a full course load each semester.
  • Guide chemical engineering students in their academic projects.
  • Establish a research program that actively involves undergraduate students.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the AIChE Student Chapter.
  • Engage collaboratively in curriculum review and development within the department.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Develop a research agenda that attracts external funding and results in scholarly publications.
  • Participate in various school and university committees.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Chemical, Biochemical, or Biomolecular Engineering.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level.
  • Capability to engage in applied research that meets current and future industry demands.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience teaching at a primarily undergraduate institution.
  • Ability to involve students in undergraduate research initiatives.
  • Prior experience with externally funded applied research projects.
  • Familiarity with contemporary laboratory instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to initiate and enhance new programs or concentrations in chemical engineering.
