Position Overview:
The Gadomski School of Engineering at Christian Brothers University is seeking a dedicated educator for a faculty role in Chemical Engineering. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to engage students effectively.
Qualified individuals are encouraged to submit their applications, as this position will remain open until filled.
The faculty member will be expected to teach core undergraduate courses in chemical engineering, including practical laboratory sessions. An aptitude for supporting courses in materials science is highly desirable. The selection for tenure, tenure-track, or non-tenure-track appointments will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality instruction in a full course load each semester.
2. Mentor chemical engineering students on academic projects.
3. Establish a research program that fosters significant undergraduate involvement.
4. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the AIChE Student Chapter.
5. Collaborate with colleagues in the review and advancement of the department's curriculum.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate a research agenda that attracts external funding and leads to scholarly publications.
2. Participate in university and departmental committees.
Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. in Chemical, Biochemical, or Biomolecular Engineering.
2. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level.
3. Capability to engage in applied research that meets current and future industry demands.
Preferred Attributes:
1. Experience teaching at a primarily undergraduate institution.
2. Proven ability to involve students in research initiatives.
3. Background in externally funded applied research.
4. Familiarity with contemporary laboratory equipment.
5. Capacity to initiate and enhance new programs or concentrations in chemical engineering.
