Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist

At DeWys Metal Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the supply chain processes, including sourcing, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Logistics Coordination: Manage transportation and logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and partners and oversee warehousing operations.
  • Procurement: Source materials and services, evaluate vendor performance, and ensure that procurement processes align with company standards.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze current supply chain processes and implement improvements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier delays, quality issues, or disruptions.
  • Data Analysis: Use data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports, and make data-driven decisions to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, finance, sales, and customer service, to align supply chain activities with business goals.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage supply chain management software, ERP systems, and other technologies to monitor and improve supply chain processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or technical school with 2 or more years' experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of legal and ethical procurement practices.
Working Conditions:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a normal office environment.

Physical requirements include working on a personal computer on a regular basis, including viewing documents for extended periods of time on a computer monitor. Close vision capabilities are required. Team members occasionally consult with shop floor team members. May be required to lift up to ten pounds.
