Job Title: Senior Materials Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Materials Scientist to join our team at Sila Nanotechnologies. As a key member of our Application Development group, you will be responsible for leading the development of next-generation Li-ion battery materials.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in materials science, with a focus on electrochemistry and battery materials. You will be responsible for building and fostering experimental best practices, including efficient design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis. You will also be responsible for documenting and communicating findings to a broad set of partners, including customers, suppliers, and government funding agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement experimental best practices to enable best-in-class cycles of learning for product development
  • Communicate technical findings to a diverse audience, including verbal, written, and presentation
  • Collaborate with technical leads and adjacent groups to establish product development strategy
  • Proactively identify safety hazards and work cooperatively to implement improvements
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry, or equivalent with a minimum of 6+ years of industry experience
  • Track record of bringing new processes and products from concept phase through New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Experience with battery materials and/or electrochemical testing techniques is a plus
