The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing, analyzing, and managing financial accounting information. This includes the preparation and posting of various journals, ledgers, and accounts, as well as the analysis of financial data, financial statements, and expenditure reports.

This position entails supervisory responsibilities, including the management of a fiscal support specialist and oversight of in-house dining services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate fiscal transactions to ensure adherence to established accounting standards and compliance with governing policies.
  • Provide training to staff on various accounting-related tasks.
  • Prepare and monitor grant budgets, forecasting revenues and expenditures while reviewing and presenting financial data to assess funding needs.
  • Generate financial statements, bank reconciliations, operational reports, and other essential financial documents.
  • Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and other fiscal records.
  • Review and process expense vouchers, invoices, and other financial documents for payment.
  • Reconcile financial reports and other data related to fiscal operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Competencies and Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and staff, demonstrating skills in data collection, organization, and analysis.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Federal grants.
Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in accounting or financial management.
Compensation: An entry-level salary of $50,000 is offered, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes retirement plans, health, life, dental, and disability insurance, as well as tuition waivers for employees and their families.
