Job Overview

Newberry Tanks & Equipment is a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil industry, agriculture, and industrial sectors nationwide. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks, and distribute accessory equipment.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of various financial records and performing multiple tasks related to financial management.

The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical and analytical skills, a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel). Sage 100 ERP software experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Perform month-end close and reconcile control accounts
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain fixed asset records
  • Prepare various analytical reports and troubleshoot accounting issues
  • Reconcile sales taxes, purchase clearing, and freight accounts
  • Audit production entries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent required
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel)
  • Sage 100 ERP software experience a plus
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • 3-5 years' experience in staff accounting or related role
