We are seeking to hire a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice for a full-time role. This position involves assisting foremen and team members in the installation of fire sprinkler systems across various construction projects, including tenant improvements, new builds, underground installations, and retrofitting tasks. Given the critical nature of fire sprinkler systems, attention to detail and quality workmanship are paramount. Responsibilities of the Fire Sprinkler Apprentice include pipe fabrication, efficient execution of job site tasks, operation of hand and power tools, adherence to workplace protocols, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Follow standardized practices and methods set by the company and industry.
  • Participate in training and safety meetings to enhance safety knowledge and address concerns.
  • Demonstrate integrity in all work activities to uphold company values.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Basic measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and fire codes.
  • Familiarity with operating various mechanical and electrical tools, including saws, wrenches, drills, and lifts.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in fire sprinkler systems and knowledge of NFPA 13 is preferred.
  • Commitment to safety practices.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation in both written and electronic formats.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to collaborate with others in diverse situations.
  • Capability to work amidst frequent interruptions.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and carry over 50 pounds, with no fear of heights.
  • Willingness to work in elevated positions for prolonged durations.
  • Stamina for repetitive tasks, including lifting, reaching, climbing, and bending.
  • Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.

Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour
