Part Time Wellness Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wellness Attendant to join our team at Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center. As a Wellness Attendant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and members.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise individuals in swimming pools, monitoring activity for optimal safety and enforcing pool rules and regulations.
- Ensure lifesaving equipment is readily available and in good working condition, reporting any defects to the Wellness and Aquatics Coordinator.
- Inspect pool and locker room areas, completing a daily checklist and temperature log, and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Perform scheduled pool cleanings, including pool walls, grates, floors, and application of wax to stainless steel.
- Perform vacuuming of pools daily after the evening shift.
- Take phone calls, return messages, enroll and book members for open swim/gym times and aquatic classes using the computer system.
- Provide instruction for aquatic classes following training period.
- Rinse all aquatic therapy equipment after each use and hang to dry.
- Clean divider curtain with appropriate cleaning solution as needed.
- Monitor water levels and temperature in each pool daily, documenting any issues in a log sheet.
- Ensure the pool lift is in good working condition, with valves shut off when not in use and batteries charged.
- Squeegee water off the pool deck consistently to prevent injury.
- Keep the area around pools free from obstructions, with all items used by members put away after use.
- Keep the equipment closet clean and organized, stocking towels, washcloths, toilet paper, and pool cleaning supplies as needed.
- Assist with ordering equipment and notifying the Wellness Coordinator of low or broken items.
- Clean gym spaces, wiping down equipment, sweeping and mopping floors during each shift.
- Find coverage for breaks if needed, and ensure there is no lapse in pool supervision during shifts.
- Possess a current ARC Professional Rescuer CPR Certificate or American Heart Association Course 'C' CPR Certificate, or NYS Department of Health accepted equivalent certificate.
- Be at least 18 years old with experience in an aquatic environment and working with children.
