Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist to join our team at FPI Management, Inc. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our properties are in compliance with all relevant affordable housing programs and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Certification: Assist with the annual certification process, audit preparation, and corrections as assigned by the Regional Portfolio Manager or Community Director.
  • Certification Interviews: Conduct applicant/resident certification interviews, gather eligibility documents, and complete and submit files to the third-party auditor with high accuracy.
  • File Processing: Timely process certification files and maintain accurate records.
  • Communication: Maintain positive and professional communication with onsite staff, Portfolio Managers, and Compliance team members.
  • Reporting: Provide timely updates to internal tracking systems and respond to Community Director, Portfolio Manager, Compliance Specialist, and Compliance Director.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs and layering, and regulatory compliance in one or more programs such as LIHTC, HUD programs, USDA-Rural Development, HCD, HOME Funds, and Bonds.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree in a relatable field preferred.
  • Certifications: Affordable Housing/Tax Credit certification preferred (C3P, HCCP, HCP-E, COS, TCS, CPO, FHC, NAHP, NAHPe, SCHM, etc.).
  • Skills: Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English; strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management-related software, email, internet).
