Position Overview:

As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for originating mortgage loans within a designated area. This role involves building referral relationships with realtors, builders, and financial institutions to proactively seek business opportunities and achieve specific loan origination targets. You will guide customers through the application process, conduct preliminary assessments, and ensure timely submission of loan applications for processing and approval. You will serve as the primary contact for clients and realtors, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct interviews and assist members with their loan applications.
  • Input applications into the online loan system and monitor the progress of member-originated loans.
  • Review files for accuracy and completeness, communicating with processing teams as needed.
  • Deliver loan terms and conditions to members and provide required disclosures within specified timeframes.
  • Assist in coordinating loan processing and closing activities.
  • Promote additional services offered by the credit union.
  • Stay informed about current mortgage lending trends and regulatory requirements.
Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Mortgage Sales Manager and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a two-year college degree or equivalent specialized training.
  • At least two years of experience in a Mortgage Loan Officer role within a similar organization.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with various mortgage processing systems is advantageous.
Work Environment:

This position operates in an office setting and requires the use of standard office equipment. A personal smartphone is necessary for employment due to security protocols.
Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent sitting, occasional walking, and the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
Position Type:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week.
Compensation:

Compensation is based on a commission structure with no cap on earnings.
