Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nephrology Clinician Educator to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students, and contributing to the research and educational activities of the division of Nephrology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students using adult learning methods
  • Participate in clinical and administrative research, including performance improvement initiatives and extramurally funded investigations
  • Work with institutional and administrative staff to achieve the objectives of Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health
  • Provide excellent patient care in Transplant and General Nephrology, including management of patients on the Nephrology consult service
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Nephrology
  • Direct experience in managing complex inpatients and outpatients
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship in General Nephrology
  • Interest in teaching and growth in an academic setting
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a diverse team and provide effective communication
  • Interest in furthering the research, scholarly, and academic missions of the division
