Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Endocrinology Clinician Educator to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, teaching, and research opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and mentor endocrinology fellows, residents, and medical students in a clinical setting.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs, including resident didactic series, noon conferences, and grand rounds.
  • Participate in clinical and administrative research, including performance improvement initiatives and extramurally funded investigations.
  • Provide high-quality patient care in general endocrinology and focused areas of interest and experience.
  • Collaborate with institutional and administrative staff to achieve the objectives of Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health System.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism.
  • Direct experience in managing complex inpatients and outpatients.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diabetes and metabolism, thyroid disorders, or metabolic bone disease.
  • Interest in teaching and growth in an academic setting.
  • Qualification for an appointment as assistant/associate professor.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a diverse team providing effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Interest in furthering the research, scholarly, and academic missions of the division.
