We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Receives patients and explains the procedure to ensure their comfort and understanding.
- Provides patient services to all ages using various imaging modalities.
- Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
- Maintains equipment and supplies, and organizes the work area to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Keeps accurate records and helps with scheduling of ultrasound exams to maintain a smooth patient flow.
- Graduate of an approved course in Ultrasonography or currently enrolled in an ultrasonography program.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer license or Registered Vascular Technologist license, or be register eligible.
- New graduates must take and pass the ARDMS registry within 2 years of hire.
