In this role, you will oversee daily operations to maintain our reputation as a reliable provider of aviation repair and maintenance services. Collaborate with your colleagues to establish and implement effective processes that enhance flight and product efficiency.

As a Planner/Buyer, your responsibilities will include planning and managing inventory as well as the routing of customer materials at the business unit level. This encompasses managing exchange pools and inventory at service centers. You will be tasked with procuring materials, equipment, supplies, and services within set quality, quantity, and pricing parameters from various sources. Additionally, you will obtain quotes and negotiate delivery terms while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of relevant data and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute inventory control functions by aligning company objectives (cost, quality, delivery), establishing and maintaining inventory analysis, managing customer consignment parts, disposing of surplus or outdated inventory, and adjusting orders as needed.
  • Focus on subcontract routing for repairs, including obtaining quotes and expediting customer parts to vendors.
  • Handle tasks beyond the typical Material Specialist role, such as processing stock credits and transferring materials to other business units.
  • Assist in managing internal rework orders by tracking, posting, and crediting internal parts to support our used serviceable material initiatives.
  • Work with service centers to set targets and plan inventory purchases based on forecasts and replacement factors.
  • Gather vendor quotations to ensure favorable terms and assist technical staff in making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain data integrity within inventory systems by updating item master files and monitoring purchase orders.
  • Coordinate the return of damaged goods, arranging replacements or credits as necessary.
  • Develop new supplier relationships by sourcing vendors, negotiating terms, and educating them on material policies.
  • Review and suggest updates to company material policies and procedures.
  • Train and supervise other Planner/Buyers.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to inventory levels and supplier compliance.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to optimize freight savings and manage priority shipments.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong skills in planning, organization, analysis, negotiation, and communication.
  • Understanding of repair management processes and inventory control systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and purchasing systems is beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience in Supply Chain roles is preferred.
  • Experience in inventory management or FAA Repair Station environments is a plus.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required.
