Per Diem Dietitian-Food Service Therapeutics-Mount Sinai West-Days

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem Dietitian to join our team at Mount Sinai West. As a Per Diem Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing quality nutrition care and education to patients and family members.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate the nutritional status of patients by reviewing pertinent information obtained from the electronic medical record and the interdisciplinary health care team.
- Apply knowledge of nutrition screening and assessment to specific patient populations to determine their nutritional needs.
- Document pertinent findings in the medical record as per policy.
- Provide quality nutrition counseling to patients and family members as indicated.
- Evaluate nutrition care plans for effectiveness and recommend changes as needed.
- Use professional judgment to adapt and apply guidelines, protocols, and professional standards of care to the new and changing needs of the patient.
- Evaluate and assess the need for enteral and parenteral nutrition support and provide recommendations as indicated.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds as needed and communicate effectively with members of the health team.
- Assist with discharge planning as needed.
- Precept dietetic interns and instruct them on the competencies required to complete their assigned rotation.
- Provide feedback for incorporation into student evaluations.
- Participate in community-focused education programs.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- 0-2 years of experience, including dietetic internship.
