Job Summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Armed Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular security patrols of hospital facilities and grounds to deter and detect potential security threats.
  • Respond to emergency situations and incidents, including but not limited to, fires, medical emergencies, and violent behavior.
  • Investigate and document incidents, including gathering statements and evidence.
  • Enforce hospital policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to patients, employees, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including nursing and administration, to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on security procedures and best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of armed security experience, or equivalent experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Active Level 3 Certification (Texas) required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Law enforcement experience.
  • Healthcare security experience.
  • IAHSS Basic Security Certification.
  • Verbal De-escalation training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
