POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced Sustainability Consultants to serve as vital technical resources within our energy consulting division. The ideal candidates will oversee various project components related to Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks, including compliance checklists, decarbonization strategies, utility performance assessments, climate risk evaluations, and property resilience analyses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with clients to facilitate the formulation and implementation of their ESG strategies.
  • Deliver ESG-related services such as benchmarking assessments, decarbonization roadmaps, and property resilience evaluations that align with client objectives.
  • Supervise data collection for ESG and benchmarking initiatives, conduct site visits, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Execute benchmarking evaluations, complete ESG compliance checklists, determine decarbonization strategies, and analyze greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of ESG and benchmarking projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery with high technical standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to meet their expectations and project requirements.
  • Plan project activities, revise forecasts, and keep precise records of project milestones.
  • Communicate project timelines and budgets, provide training and oversight for tasks, and ensure quality control.
  • Coordinate with external subcontractors and assist with project billing and forecasting.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, addressing project staffing needs and challenges with the technical director.
  • Uphold target utilization rates and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Foster teamwork and advocate for the company’s mission and values.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry ESG standards, including GRI, TCFD, and SASB.
  • Previous experience in utility benchmarking and reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in ESG applications within the commercial real estate sector.
  • 2+ years of experience with leading ESG reporting frameworks such as CDP, GRESB, and UNPRI.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing ESG initiatives and climate resilience strategies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt work schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Genuine passion for ESG, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Adequate visual acuity for performing job duties, including reading from printed materials and computer screens.
  • Capability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in unconditioned environments as needed.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Frequent physical activities including bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling throughout the work shift.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000, reflecting our expectations for the role based on various factors including skills, experience, and organizational needs. Eligible candidates may also participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program based on individual and organizational performance.
