POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking qualified Environmental Sustainability Advisors to join our energy consulting division. The ideal candidates will be responsible for overseeing all elements of project execution related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks, including reporting, decarbonization strategies, utility performance assessments, climate risk evaluations, and resilience planning for properties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with clients to support the formulation and implementation of their ESG strategies.
- Deliver ESG-related services, including benchmarking assessments, decarbonization roadmaps, and property resilience evaluations that align with client objectives.
- Supervise data collection for ESG and benchmarking initiatives, conduct site visits, and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Execute benchmarking analyses, finalize ESG assessments, identify pathways for decarbonization, and report on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- Manage a portfolio of ESG and benchmarking projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery with high technical standards.
- Maintain effective communication with clients to meet their expectations and project requirements.
- Plan project activities, update forecasts, and keep accurate records of milestones.
- Facilitate project deadlines and budgets, provide training and oversight, and ensure quality control.
- Coordinate with external subcontractors and assist with project invoicing and forecasting.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, identifying staffing needs and project challenges to the technical director.
- Uphold target utilization rates and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Foster teamwork and promote the company's mission and values.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with industry ESG standards such as GRI, TCFD, and SASB.
- Previous experience in utility benchmarking and reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in ESG applications within the commercial real estate sector.
- 2+ years of experience with leading ESG reporting frameworks like CDP, GRESB, and UNPRI.
- Proven experience in developing and executing ESG initiatives and climate resilience strategies.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to adapt work schedules to meet project deadlines.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
- Genuine interest in ESG, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Adequate visual acuity for job functions, including reading printed materials and computer screens.
- Ability to navigate ladders and stairs.
- Capability to work outdoors and in unconditioned environments as needed.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Frequent physical activities including bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling are required throughout the workday.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000, reflecting our expectations for this role based on various factors such as skills, experience, and organizational needs. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus program based on individual and organizational performance.
