Job Summary

Rentokil North America is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Mosquito/Pest Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our pest control team, you will be responsible for performing mosquito surveillance and control fieldwork as part of an integrated mosquito management program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of control zones to identify potential mosquito breeding habitats and detect the presence of mosquito larvae.
  • Assess each inspection site and implement the most effective control techniques, including source reduction, biological control, public education, and chemical control.
  • Accurately record all findings and control activities on the appropriate log sheet and GPS unit, and enter data into JC Ehrlich's database as required.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all applicable chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and handle/apply all chemicals according to label specifications.
  • Obey all traffic laws and report any incidents or accidents to the contract supervisor immediately.
  • Know and follow proper safety and spill procedures at all times, and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regularly.
  • Communicate respectfully, honestly, and knowledgeably to residents at all times during service request inspections, routine larvicide activities, or during any other public relations activities.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, including automobiles, ATVs, larvicide application equipment, adulticide application equipment, dippers, and other surveillance equipment.
  • Fill trucks/sprayers with gasoline as needed, and mix pesticides & diluents accurately as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workplace and report safety hazards to the contract supervisor immediately.
  • Acquire and maintain all required licenses, certifications, and other necessary qualifications as required by law and JC Ehrlich.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Must obtain state pesticide applicator licensing (training provided).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle record search.
