KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the safety and enjoyment of children participating in the Child Care program.
- Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and standards, including safety protocols and behavior management strategies; maintain the cleanliness and organization of the program area and equipment.
- Conduct regular safety checks on toys and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
- Engage children through meaningful activities; design programs that align with developmental goals, cultural relevance, and the YMCA's core values.
- Build positive relationships with children, demonstrating effective interpersonal skills in all interactions.
- Establish strong connections with parents, families, and colleagues.
- Facilitate open communication with parents regarding their child's development and connect families to YMCA resources.
- Document and report any incidents or safety concerns following YMCA policies.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Uphold YMCA policies and exemplify our core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Passion for working with children; prior experience in child care is advantageous.
- Completion of a TB test is mandatory before commencing duties.
- Understanding of child development and positive discipline methods is beneficial.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to adapt, show patience, and respond to children's needs.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Experience working with diverse groups is preferred.
- Capability to form genuine relationships with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Commitment to inclusivity and adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Certification in CPR/AED/O2/First Aid and completion of required training within 30 days of hire.
