Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and assess testing systems for electronic subassemblies in fuel cell and hybrid vehicles, emphasizing power conversion.
  • Formulate and implement test strategies to verify software updates and address issues for core software releases.
  • Authenticate software for the Vehicle Communications development team.
  • Record and relay any challenges encountered during validation and verification processes.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to assess, troubleshoot, and resolve serial data communication challenges.
  • Generate electrical design schematics for testing equipment along with mechanical layouts of testing systems.
  • Develop software solutions to automate testing procedures using LabVIEW.
  • Compile serial data reports and software release documentation.
  • Complete special projects related to support tasks.
  • Organize work schedules, vehicle usage, and testing in alignment with available resources.
  • Present project statuses through verbal and written communications.
  • Design and implement both automated and manual functional testing equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering support staff.
  • Participate in product development meetings to discuss design, specifications, and timelines.
  • Investigate emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Potential for local travel.

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with Vehicle Link Testers.
  • Understanding of electronic principles and the ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic and maintenance procedures.
  • Proficient in vehicle serial data communication protocols, including UART, Class 2, KeyWord, CAN, and GMLAN.
  • Experienced in using the TECH 2 diagnostic tool.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Advanced problem identification and resolution skills, employing root cause analysis.
  • Proficient in LabVIEW programming.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
  • Experience with email communication platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration across various functions and cultures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills for coordinating and executing project plans.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to mentor and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic understanding of internet technologies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical discipline.
