Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our Psychiatric Unit team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care responsibilities, contributing to quality patient care through therapeutic groups and activities, milieu counseling, and management.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Registered Nurses in providing direct and indirect patient care.
  • Contribute to quality patient care through therapeutic groups and activities, milieu counseling, and management.
  • Perform patient care observation rounds, 1:1 observation, environmental rounds, vital signs, control logs, glucose checks, specimen collections, treatment planning, patient education, visitor and meal monitoring, belongings and body checks, and documentation as needed.
  • Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage disruptive patient behaviors and apply physical restraint as directed.
  • Perform clerical functions to support clinical operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health, forensic, or addictions setting.
  • Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred, in Psychology or related study.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
