POSITION SUMMARY

We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced QA/QC Manager to lead all quality assurance and control functions within our supplement manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will possess strategic thinking abilities, a robust technical background, and a proven history in the supplement or food sector. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance, quality systems, and the capability to guide and nurture a high-performing QA/QC team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and execute thorough QA/QC strategies and protocols to guarantee product quality and adherence to regulatory standards (FDA, GMP, etc.).
  • Supervise all quality control activities, including raw material evaluation, in-process assessments, finished product testing, and stability evaluations.
  • Lead and develop the QA/QC team, offering training, growth opportunities, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct internal audits and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and other departments to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Address customer complaints and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Manage and maintain quality documentation and records.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Foster a strong quality culture within the organization.
  • Oversee the QA/QC budget.
  • Manage daily operations of the quality control laboratory, including personnel management, equipment calibration, and maintenance.
  • Optimize laboratory resources for productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and safety protocols.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of microbiology principles and techniques.
  • Provide technical support to the laboratory team on microbiological testing and analysis.
  • Investigate and resolve microbiological quality challenges.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, quality assurance, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of QA/QC management experience in the food manufacturing sector. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP, and other pertinent quality standards.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a QA/QC team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in quality assurance or a related field (e.g., CQAP, CMfgT, CQE, Six-Sigma for Quality).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC).
  • Familiarity with ERP and LIMS systems.
