Mortgage Compliance Specialist II Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Compliance Specialist II to join our team at Mortgage Funding Direct - TotalSource. As a key member of our compliance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our company's mortgage lending activities comply with federal, state, and agency requirements.
About the JobThe successful candidate will provide critical support for our Mortgage Compliance Program, including auditing and assessments. You will work closely with our compliance management team to ensure that all necessary procedures are in place to maintain our high level of compliance.
Responsibilities- Preparation for Agency Exams: Assist in preparing for agency exams, investor reviews, and state audits to ensure compliance with CFPB origination requirements.
- Policies and Procedures: Maintain and update policies and procedures to support our Compliance Program, including custodial duties for company documents.
- Assessments and Reviews: Perform targeted reviews and assessments to document gaps and track remediation plans, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Research and Development: Research regulatory developments and changes relevant to compliance and all lines of business, providing periodic reports to Compliance Management.
- Audits and Investigations: Conduct research, gather information, and investigate as necessary, including targeted reviews and audits. Ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner according to established procedures and agency guidelines.
- Specialized Areas: Own specialized areas of responsibility, such as licensing, vendor management, community templates, consumer complaints, and other assigned tasks.
- Education: High School Diploma required (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Experience: 2-4 years of general mortgage industry or business compliance experience required.
- Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, strong Excel spreadsheet skills, and ability to function independently and prioritize workload. Experience with Encompass is a plus.
- Communication: Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be eligible for overtime pay. Remote/Hybrid opportunities are available, and you will report to our Division/Corporate Office daily, adhering to a schedule. The job requires sitting or standing for long periods, moving around the work environment, and having face-to-face conversations with internal customers, coworkers, and higher-level management.
