Key Responsibilities- Prepare exam rooms for use, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Prep patient charts with pre-visit planning, reviewing schedules and identifying gaps in care.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and direct patient flow for maximum efficiency.
- Collect and document patient information, clinical data, and vital signs.
- Obtain additional data from patients/significant others, EKG/lab/diagnostic test results, and historical data.
- Report findings to providers, recognizing abnormal findings or changes in condition.
- Confirm and clarify written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
- Collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens for on-site and remote-site testing.
- Track and enter results in medical records, performing quality control for waived testing and log maintenance.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years documented medical assistant experience and completion of the CH Medical Assistant Assessment.
- BCLS training and current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Proficiency with care tasks such as phlebotomy, aseptic technique, etc.
