The Lead MRI Imaging Specialist establishes effective communication protocols among staff, guarantees consistency in care delivery, and prepares comprehensive reports for management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guarantee patient, caregiver, and visitor safety and satisfaction in line with established standards.
  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services efficiently.
  • Encourage caregiver engagement and foster team initiatives.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and retention of skilled caregivers.
  • Maintain positive interdepartmental relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and customers.
  • Act as a proactive problem solver and innovator within the department.

Operational Duties:
  • Ensure clinics are adequately stocked with necessary materials and resources.
  • Verify patient identification and order accuracy before examinations.
  • Conduct MRI procedures following departmental protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy and patient positioning.
  • Critically evaluate imaging results for quality assurance.
  • Complete examinations within established timeframes while prioritizing patient care.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to select appropriate scanning techniques.
  • Administer intravenous contrast materials under supervision as required.
  • Implement infection control and sterile techniques effectively.
  • Operate MRI equipment and related systems to produce high-quality images.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of MRI safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Documentation and Compliance:
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including timestamps and image storage.
  • Adhere to medical necessity protocols, coding, and consent requirements.
  • Serve as an educational resource for new staff and students.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires capabilities in hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and standing for extended periods.
