Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work closely with our Center Physician and Center Management team to ensure the successful operation of our center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Evaluate and manage donor reaction(s) that occur at the facility, following applicable SOPs.
  • Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
  • Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI), referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Assist the EHS program as required, including conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires and maintaining employee medical records.
Requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Able to satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
