We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Area Agency on Aging of Western Arkansas, Inc. As a key member of our transportation services, you will be responsible for operating assigned vehicles to transport clients to various appointments while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation Operations
- Operate vehicles according to assigned schedules to provide safe and reliable transportation.
- Drive in a safe and responsible manner at all times, complying with all traffic regulations.
- Activate and deactivate the child safety alarm system as required.
- Passenger Assistance
- Assist wheelchair and mobility-limited passengers in and out of the pickup/drop-off points and as they enter or exit the vehicle.
- Secure seat belts, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices as necessary.
- Reporting and Communication
- Report any witnessed or reported abuse of passengers to the Transportation Manager.
- Communicate with Dispatchers or other Drivers to report disruptions, delays, or accidents.
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle and inspect for any damage or malfunctions on a daily basis.
- Report any vehicle issues to the Transportation Manager.
- Record Keeping
- Maintain records of trips and passenger behavior.
- Education and Experience
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 25 years old.
- Valid driver's license.
- Certified in CPR/First Aid.
- Background Checks
- Must submit to and successfully pass a criminal background screen, adult and child maltreatment screen, pre-employment DOT drug screen, and pre-employment DOT physical.
- Driving Record
- Must not have any combination of two moving violations or accidents on the motor vehicle report.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in driving or working with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Strong communication skills.
