Job Summary:
A professional caregiver is sought for a group of patients in a designated time frame. The successful candidate will provide care to patients via the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Key Responsibilities:
• Performs ongoing systematic assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status; also nutrition, pain, patient/family education, family involvement and patient advocacy.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care when and where appropriate to do so.
• Implements care in a thorough, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
• Establishes priorities or patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources of time, personnel, equipment, and supplies.

Patient Care Priorities:
The ideal candidate will prioritize patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources. This includes time, personnel, equipment, and supplies. Effective communication methods and skills are necessary for this role, following lines of authority as needed.

Team Collaboration:
The Nurse Care Coordinator - Cardiovascular Operating Room will work effectively with members of the health care team, patients, and families. This includes establishing effective working relationships, acknowledging staff rights, and cultural and ethical beliefs. Delegation and coordination of duties are also essential in this role.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of the RN scope of practice and commitment to service orientation (members, staff, providers). Effective written and oral communication skills (in English) are also required. Good interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this position.

Educational Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. A high school diploma/GED and completion of the current hours required by the BRN of RN student clinical experience are also necessary. Alternatively, the candidate may be a graduate of an accredited licensed vocational nursing program that includes clinical student experience in acute care and has worked 2000 hours as a licensed vocational nurse within the clinical area of specialty within three years before graduation.

Licensure and Certification:
The successful candidate will hold a Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification. They must also be available for call back within 30 minutes of the facility.

Estimated Salary:
$115,000 per year
