Position Overview:
UNC Health is in search of a dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our esteemed healthcare team. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional diagnostic imaging services within our organization.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting standard procedures and tests utilizing radiology equipment to gather essential diagnostic information.
  2. Preparing for and assisting radiologists in complex radiographic procedures, including the administration of contrast media and medications in compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Performing thorough patient assessments and delivering high-quality patient care.
  4. Evaluating the appropriateness of examinations and ensuring the quality of radiographic images.

Work Environment:
You will be part of a multidisciplinary care team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and medical assistants. Our clinics operate with flexible hours, providing x-ray services exclusively.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology and adhering to departmental protocols and policies.
  2. Ensuring the accuracy of patient demographics and examination requests, and managing image documentation effectively.
  3. Conducting imaging procedures in a timely manner while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  4. Utilizing various information systems to document and manage patient procedures efficiently.
  5. Verifying patient identity and history, assessing physical conditions, and responding to emergency situations as needed.

Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. Candidates may be considered if they are close to completing their degree.

Licensure/Certification:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligible for registration within one year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.

Experience:
No prior experience is necessary; however, knowledge of radiation safety and infection control is preferred.
