Summary

We are part of Apple's Hardware Reliability Engineering team, dedicated to collaborating with various iOS hardware engineering groups. Our mission is to enhance and ensure the durability and dependability of Apple's innovative products.

In this role, you will engage with multiple engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to post-market analysis. Your contributions will help explore emerging technologies and provide insights into customer usage patterns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing new reliability testing protocols and specifications.
  • Creating clear and comprehensive test plans while analyzing the resulting data.
  • Conducting statistical analyses to assess design risks.
  • Effectively presenting test outcomes and risk evaluations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Investigating new technologies to identify unique failure mechanisms.
  • Collaborating with diverse teams to enhance product reliability.
  • Analyzing failures during reliability assessments to determine root causes and propose solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a hardware-related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electronics).
  • Experience in product characterization, including mechanical stress tests and environmental assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in creating clear presentations and reports.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen interest in technology.
  • Familiarity with iWork and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Weibull or JMP.
  • Knowledge of Failure Analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Understanding of Design of Experiments.
  • Creative approach to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
