We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commissioning Specialist to join our team at AEI. As a Senior Commissioning Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients' buildings are designed and constructed to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate system test procedures to ensure that building systems are functioning as intended.
- Organize user training sessions to educate clients on the operation and maintenance of building systems.
- Administer functional performance tests to verify that building systems meet design specifications.
- Conduct field observations to identify potential issues with building systems.
- Attend progress meetings to ensure that project milestones are met.
- Assist in document control to ensure that all project documents are accurate and up-to-date.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering (or another engineering discipline) from an accredited program.
- Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process or lighting systems.
- Understanding of applicable codes, standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
- Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
- Proficient in application of applicable technologies including computer/software, data loggers, test and measurement equipment.
- Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states or minimum of 10 years in a commissioning related practice.
- Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body.
- Valid driver's license and state required vehicle insurance.
- General understanding of the resources required to complete specific types of projects.
- Ability to anticipate commissioning work, and to delegate and balance work for others.
- Experience in combining personal judgment and a broad perspective to make decisions that positively affect the overall commissioning process.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, including carrying out appropriate follow-through with others, mentoring, delegating work, and giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Communicates well with clients, project partners and with individuals at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to access and interpret all types of design and contract instruments including BIM models.
- Ability to apply safety training to specific construction situations and avoid unsafe work environments.
- Ability to use and instruct others in the safe use of test and measurement equipment and common tools.
- Strong spoken and written communications skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective working individually and within team environments.
