Job Summary

Prisma Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients using two demographic identifiers and review physician orders for procedures to be performed.
  • Perform all ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Ensure imaging quality meets quality control standards and stay abreast of organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes.
  • Provide excellent customer service, explaining procedures to patients, introducing yourself, and ensuring patients are in the correct area for their procedure.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized environment, stock work areas with linens and supplies, and dispose of used supplies and bio-hazardous materials according to hospital policy.
  • Participate in supervision of students and volunteers, evaluate and document student progress, and communicate with clinical instructors and department heads as necessary.
Requirements
  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Must obtain one or more of the following credentials with ARDMS: Abdomen, OBGYN, and Pediatric.
  • Breast credential through ARDMS prior to 2011 will be accepted if that is the only credential at manager's discretion.
  • BLS certified.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier).
  • Data entry.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Patient equipment - vitals, suction, defib.
  • ARRT in Radiology - Preferred.
  • PACS experience - Preferred.
  • EMR experience.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Greenville Radiology, 1008 Greenville Memorial Hospital, Ultrasound-GOR department.
