Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with MMLA's leadership to formulate and implement operational strategies, policies, and budgetary plans while nurturing an inclusive work environment.
  • Oversee human resources functions, from recruitment to performance evaluation, ensuring alignment with MMLA's core values of justice, diversity, and equity.
  • Manage financial and IT operations, ensuring effective budgeting and technological advancements.
  • Act as a representative in labor negotiations and maintain compliance with union agreements, while engaging with the Board of Directors to provide critical reports and recommendations.
  • Deliver comprehensive fiscal management and operational support.
  • Promote racial justice, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring alignment with community needs.
  • Utilize extensive management experience to enhance organizational and communication capabilities.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A minimum of five years in a leadership or management role within a law firm, government agency, legal services provider, or non-profit organization.
  • General understanding of operational functions and principles, including employee management, finance, technology, and client services.
  • Proven ability to design and manage operational processes to achieve objectives.
  • Familiarity with civil legal services and relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Experience working with diverse economic, social, and cultural communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Preferred:

  • Experience in social, economic, and racial justice, particularly in delivering civil legal services.
  • Background in developing and executing DEI workplace policies and practices.
  • Experience managing an office or non-profit, with a focus on human resource management and labor relations.
  • Nonprofit experience, including budget oversight and compliance.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing third-party contractors.
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
