Cardiac Care Specialist

Our Cardiac Short Stay Unit is a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges. We utilize on-site telemetry monitoring for all beds, providing opportunities for assessments, teaching, IVs, chest tubes, dressings, and medication administration and management. Our patient population focuses on cardiopulmonary diagnoses such as chest pain, acute onset atrial fibrillation, heart failure, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, acute PE/DVT, and post-procedural patients from the cath lab and CVOR.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care to patients with cardiopulmonary diagnoses
- Assess, teach, and manage medications for patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Licensure/Certification/Registry: Licensed as RN in State of Illinois, Current BLS/CPR certification per policy
- Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to position and/or transfer an average adult patient, withstand prolonged periods of standing, and perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections
