Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Personal Care Assistant. This is a full-time position, 35-40 hours per week, with a tentative schedule of Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

This role involves providing one-on-one care for a 26-year-old man with special needs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and able to make independent decisions. They should be comfortable adapting to change within a family setting and be willing to participate in daily activities.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Assisting with life skills, such as shopping, doctor's appointments, and managing daily routines
  • Cleaning and maintaining the home, including laundry, trash, dishes, making beds, and cleaning rooms
  • Communicating effectively with the individual, using cognitive direction and proper word reminders, and keeping daily communication logs
  • Participating in fun activities and engaging the individual in hobbies and interests

We require the successful candidate to have their own vehicle with a clean driving record and pass a background check. Nonsmokers are preferred.
