Home Care Companion

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Home Care Companion to join our team at Family Matters Quality Care. This is a full-time position, with a tentative schedule of 35-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm.
The successful candidate will provide personalized care and support to a 26-year-old individual with special needs, who has minimal behavioral issues. As a Home Care Companion, you will be responsible for making independent decisions, planning daily activities, and adapting to changes within the employer's home life.
This is not a babysitting position; we require a self-starter who can take initiative and work proactively. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, cognitive direction abilities, and proper word reminders. They should also be comfortable with daily paperwork and communication logs.
The job duties and responsibilities include personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, etc.), life skills (shopping, doctor appointments, etc.), chores (laundry, trash, dishes, making bed, cleaning room, etc.), and fun activities. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required, as well as passing a background check. Nonsmokers are preferred.
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 per year
