Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Driving the overall success of the pharmacy department by implementing strategies, motivating staff as the pharmacist-on-duty, prioritizing tasks to maximize contributions, and seeking feedback for personal and team development in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Delivering exceptional pharmacy services to patients, empowering staff to provide value through counseling, fostering personalized relationships, promoting customer loyalty, and offering pharmacist-led clinical services to enhance health and wellness.
  • Mentoring and developing a high-performing pharmacy team, providing growth opportunities and challenging assignments tailored to individual needs.
  • Inspiring your team to uphold ethical standards, fostering accountability for departmental goals, and championing the execution of programs and processes while encouraging innovation.
  • Managing departmental performance, including scheduling and task assignments, to ensure operational activities are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement and maintaining a competitive edge by understanding metrics related to sales and service, employing best practices, and making informed business decisions in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
  • Being recognized as an expert in pharmacy technology systems for both routine and complex prescription processing.
  • Excellently managing medication inventory and mentoring others on best practices to optimize sales, minimize losses, and meet customer needs using programs like auto refill and Sync Your Refills.
  • Proactively advancing pharmacy clinical initiatives, including MTM and immunizations.
  • Participating as a community pharmacist in local health events to address unique health and preventative care needs.
  • Maintaining a flexible work schedule to accommodate customer needs.
  • Assisting with additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor position include:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Must possess and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license.
  • Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or restrictions related to participation in any health insurance program upon hire and thereafter.
  • Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional qualifications for the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor role include:
  • Being an immunizing pharmacist meeting state requirements (or scheduled to become an immunizer in upcoming training).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems.
  • Numerical and financial aptitude.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory management.
