The Senior Legal Counsel will provide essential support to the General Counsel – USA on various business-related matters, including corporate risk management. This role involves offering legal advice and strategic guidance to management at all levels, acting as a trusted partner to the business. Collaboration with other departments is key to interpreting, defending, and enforcing company policies and agreements.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Assist the General Counsel - USA on business matters, focusing on corporate risk
  • Draft, review, and amend legal documents related to daily operations, including design, construction, and EPC agreements, as well as labor and vendor agreements
  • Provide legal counsel to business line and functional management, establishing a trusted partnership
  • Oversee corporate documentation, including by-laws and shareholder agreements
  • Manage the resolution of claims involving clients, subcontractors, and third parties, coordinating with insurers and outside counsel as necessary
  • Advise on corporate governance, ethics, and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Counsel senior management on corporate risks and support the risk management framework
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Compliance to interpret and enforce handbooks and agreements
  • Review and recommend improvements to corporate policies and procedures
  • Handle domestic employment matters, litigation, and claims
  • Investigate and respond to various administrative actions from government agencies
  • Manage ERISA-related issues concerning multi-employer benefit plans
  • Engage in environmental and intellectual property matters, along with other legal issues
  • Support the company’s mergers and acquisitions
  • Oversee assigned projects to completion
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Show your expertise
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Must hold a valid license in good standing
  • Background in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
  • Experience in both law firm and in-house settings is advantageous
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
