Our School of Nursing has been training nurses since 1898, and we are accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the oldest and largest hospital accreditation body in the nation.

Responsibilities


As a Registered Nurse Case Management Specialist, you will be accountable for the quality and resource management of all patients admitted to our facility, overseeing their care from admission through the entire healthcare continuum.

Your role will involve acting as an advocate for patients, promoting cost-effective practices while demonstrating leadership to integrate healthcare providers for a seamless delivery of care.

This position is designed to ensure the achievement of quality, clinical, and cost-effective outcomes through a comprehensive review of medical records for medical necessity, service intensity, and illness severity.


Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience from an accredited nursing program and a current state Registered Nurse license.
  • For those grandfathered prior to the specified cutoff, a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience from an accredited School of Social Work for Licensed Clinical Social Workers is acceptable, though RN Case Manager is preferred.
  • Preferred: Five years of acute care nursing experience and at least one year in case management, discharge planning, or nursing management.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification is required.
  • Familiarity with Milliman and InterQual Criteria is preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills are necessary.
  • Behavioral Violence Prevention Training must be completed within three months of hire and maintained thereafter.
