Position: Cloud Engineer – Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Overview: As a Cloud Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will spearhead pivotal cloud projects, including the transition from AWS to GCP, the engineering of new cloud solutions, and the enhancement of our cloud infrastructure. Your role will be essential in managing cloud platform migrations, developing dedicated hosts for Cloud Networking, and ensuring optimal performance of our systems.

Key Duties:

  • Cloud Migration: Direct the migration from AWS to GCP, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal impact on operations.
  • Development & Engineering: Design and implement new cloud solutions, including dedicated hosts for Cloud Networking and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Container Management: Utilize Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to oversee and orchestrate containerized applications, ensuring they are highly available and scalable.
  • Cloud Networking: Construct and maintain hosts within Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), optimizing cloud networking setups.
  • Infrastructure Management: Employ Terraform for infrastructure code management and verification, improving deployment processes and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Engage closely with internal and external stakeholders of our Retail and Development Partner Channel products, providing specialized support and ensuring exceptional service.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architecture.
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Experience in constructing and managing VPCs and VPNs.
  • Demonstrated success in migrating from AWS to GCP or other cloud platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Terraform: Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Certifications: GCP/GKE certifications are highly regarded.
